Stairway to heaven
"Stairway to Heaven" je bez sumnje najpoznatija pesma Led Zeppelina i mnoge glasine je okruzuju. Najpoznatija glasina je da se mogu cuti satanske poruke kada se ploca pusta naopacke. Ovo, zajedno sa Pejdzovim priznatim interesovanjem za okultistu Alejstera Kroulija, je pojacalo tvrdnje da je Pejdz uvucen u satanizam. I Pejdz i Plan su stalno poricali prisustvo satanskih poruka.
Jos jedan predmet spekulacija je bilo prikriveno znacenje stihova pesme "Stairway to Heaven", koju je Robert Plant napisao navodno za jedan dan. Na koncertnom filmu iz 1973. “The Song Remains the Same”, pre nego sto je otpeva pesmu, Plant kaze: “Mislim da je ovo pesma nade”.
Kriticari su primetili da je uvodni rif pesme "Stairway to Heaven" slican rifu pesme "Taurus" rok grupe Spirit, za koje je Led Zeppelin svirao kao predgrupa na njihovoj prvoj americkoj turneji. Led Zeppelin je istrajan da je ta slicnost cista slucajnost.
U anketi casopisa Gitar Vorld iz 2005, citaoci su izglasali da "Stairway to Heaven" ima najbolji gitarski solo svih vremena.
